See the roadmap for Agari below. Regarding timing: Agari is built by a single developer, and adding quality features takes time, so I cannot promise dates for any of these.
Roadmap
More voice acting
Every character voice in Agari is performed by a real person, and expanding that cast is a top priority. I want to record and bring on new voice actors over time to grow the roster.
Additional tile designs
Purely for fun, a few alternative tile looks so you can pick the set you like best.
A learned AI
A genuinely strong learned AI, added as a new Hard difficulty option above the current opponent rather than a replacement for it. The existing rules-based player would settle in as the Normal and Easy levels. The groundwork is already in place. Turning it into a player that reliably outclasses what ships today is a substantial effort, and one I want to get right rather than rush. The result is a proper difficulty ladder, from a relaxed game to one that will genuinely test strong players.
Also planned
Smaller or less-defined ideas I intend to get to:
- Selectable rulesets, such as WRC 2025 (World Riichi Championship) and EMA 2025 (European Mahjong Association), for players who want to match a specific competitive standard.
- Aotenjou (青天井) mode, the uncapped-scoring variant where hand values are not limited.
- Transparent tiles, a high-tension novelty mode where three of every four tiles are see-through, so part of each hidden hand is visible across the table.
